Madeira published Order No. 263/2026 setting the weekly teaching-time credit used by public basic and secondary schools for middle-management, curricular coordination, pedagogical coordination and specified educational projects in the 2026–27 school year.

What Changed?

The order replaces earlier regional provisions and sets a new calculation and allocation system for teaching-time credits, including a fixed component, student and class variables, cycle weighting, night-school enrollment and specified credits or exceptions for coordination and projects.

Old System vs New System

Before

The regional credit arrangements were governed by Order No. 240/2018 as amended, parts of Ordinance No. 361/2025 and an older provision of Order No. 29/2001.

After

Order No. 263/2026 becomes the applicable regional rule for calculating and allocating weekly teaching-time credits for covered public schools in the 2026–27 school year.
