Finland does not use a single national exam at the end of basic education. The matriculation examination is the national school-leaving exam for the general upper secondary route.

Source years are not identical
Student counts, provider-register values, finance data, assessment scores, and higher education indicators use different reporting years. The year label next to each value should remain visible.
VET counts include adults
Vocational education and training values include initial, further, and specialist vocational routes. They are not the same as a single youth upper secondary cohort.
Municipal variation is not ranked
Finland has national steering and municipal provision. National totals do not describe every municipality, provider, school, or programme.
Assessment values are separate
PISA scores are survey-based international assessment indicators. They should not be merged with school funding or enrollment values as causal evidence.
Higher education uses a dual model
Universities and universities of applied sciences are separate sectors. Their student counts, degrees, and missions should be reported separately.
Finance values need unit labels
Finance values are reported as euro totals, share of GDP, or share of public expenditure. These units should not be mixed without a stated method.
